Like many people, I once had a simple view of spiritual growth.
I used to believe that spiritual growth was simply about attending church on Sundays.
Looking back, I can see how basic my understanding was. I thought showing up to church each week was enough. With a warm cup of coffee in hand and my Bible open before me, I began to see there was so much more to learn about growing in faith.
My journey took an important turn when I found a special book.
Then I read Spiritual Food by Charlene Murray, which opened my eyes to the fact that our souls need daily nourishment through God's word and truth.
This book changed how I saw my faith walk. As I turned each page, I learned something new. The main lesson was simple but deep - our souls need food each day, just like our bodies do. This food comes from God's word and truth.
The book showed me that growing in faith isn't a once-a-week thing. It needs daily care and attention. Just as we eat meals every day to stay healthy, our spirits need regular feeding too.
The book opened my eyes to some key truths about spiritual care.
The book taught me to protect this nourishment from lies, uncovered the mystery of the two olive trees, and emphasized the importance of preparing for the final judgment.
I learned that we must guard our spiritual food carefully. Just as we check food that might spoil, we need to protect our souls from untruths. The book showed me how lies can harm our spiritual growth if we're not careful.
The mystery of the two olive trees became clear to me through this reading. This deep truth added to my understanding of God's word. Along with this insight came an important lesson about getting ready for what's ahead - the final judgment.
These teachings changed how I care for my spirit. Like a warm fire that needs tending, our spiritual life needs active protection and careful preparation.
This completely transformed how I care for my spirit
My whole approach to spiritual growth has changed. What started as simple Sunday church visits has grown into something much deeper. Now I know that my spirit needs daily care, just like my body needs daily food.
These new insights have made me look at my faith journey in a fresh way. I've learned that spiritual growth isn't just about one day a week - it's about every single day. Each morning brings a new chance to feed my spirit with God's truth.
The lessons about protecting our spiritual food and getting ready for what's ahead have changed my daily habits. I now take time each day to read, pray, and grow closer to God. This daily practice has made my faith stronger and more real than ever before.
